Handmade felted wool shoes, slippers and boots from organic, cruelty-free European wool.

Sometimes the best brands start with a simple need for change. That’s what I heard from Aiste, who, after years in IT, decided with her husband Tadas to leave corporate life behind and literally build something by hand. Together, they’ve been making felted shoes and boots in Lithuania for over a decade, each pair shaped by tradition but designed for today.

Woolenclogs is about more than just warm feet. Aiste and her husband split the work: she handles customer care and some of the hands-on process, while he does most of the heavy felting, which is a traditional craft he learned from a friend and now perfects with skill and patience. Their method is old-school: raw wool from Austria, hot water, soap, and a lot of elbow grease, all shaped over a wooden last. The soles and parts come from Poland, and every material is sourced as locally as possible to keep things transparent and European.
What sets them apart isn’t just the craft, but the mindset. They could have gone for traditional Lithuanian designs, but chose instead to make something modern, comfortable and made to last. Their shoes are for people who care about how things are made, who value quality and sustainability over trends.

Aiste told me that running a small brand in Europe has its challenges, especially when competing with big advertising budgets and dealing with shifting markets. But for her and her husband, the reward is in the work: making products they believe in, building a community with other makers, and sharing a piece of their story with every pair they send out. Woolenclogs stands for finding a better way to do business, together.
