Crazaar first appeared to me like a travel map in shop form: silk cushions from Uzbekistan, blankets from eastern Turkey, fine metal jewellery from Trabzon. I wanted to know who had connected all these places, so I spoke with founder Lea Amstad. She told me about long road trips with her family in an old Land Cruiser, dusty bazaars along the old Silk Roads and the craftspeople she met there – and suddenly the online shop made complete sense as a bridge between those worlds and ours.

Crazaar focuses on hand-crafted home accessories and ethical fashion from regions often ignored by Western buyers: Central Asia, the Middle East and other parts of the ancient Silk Road. Everything is made in small batches by artisans, workshops or collectors, using natural materials and techniques refined over centuries. The goal is simple and ambitious at once: to preserve cultural heritage while giving craftspeople better access to global markets.
